Cecily co-founders Tess and Libby started working with the elephant charity Big Life Foundation a couple of years ago. Cecily gives 10% of each sale of a ‘Nellie‘ the elephant necklace to the charity aiding them in their mission.
This special friendship continues to grow and this summer we’re very excited to launch the second generation elephant necklace in partnership with Big Life Foundation, and their friends at the Amboseli Trust for Elephants.
The new Cecily London elephant necklace is named ‘Sadie‘. Dr Vicki Fishlock, the resident scientist at ATE said “Sadie’ is the matriarch of the SB family, and she’s 52 years old now. She is a real favourite with the ATE team, and her symmetrical tusks are what made me think of her for naming your pendant in support of Big Life and their amazing work. We are so proud and grateful to have them working alongside us in Amboseli.”
Amboseli Trust for Elephants – Their mission!
“ATE contributes to elephant conservation by inspiring people with our longevity, our passion and our history. Leaders in elephant biology and behaviour for decades, we strive to ensure that our research continues to contribute to the cutting edge of elephant conservation.
We have studied the elephants in Amboseli since 1972, making us the longest running continuous elephant research project in the world. Much of what we know and understand about elephants today comes from research done by ATE and our collaborators.”
We continue to be amazed at the incredible work both these charities do and we can’t wait until next year when we plan on visiting our new friends including ‘Sadie’ the elephant!
THE PINEAPPLE has served as both a food and a symbol throughout the human history. Appearing almost everywhere this summer, from wallpaper to espadrilles – the fruit symbolizes warmth, welcome, friendship and hospitality…. as well as health, wellbeing and all the good things that summer brings!

Today, because the weather’s freezingggg, I’m dreaming of my spring wardrobe that cannot be worn yet. So in positive spirit I’m throwing it back to one of my favourite outfit posts from last year – which stupidly I haven’t posted about yet! My beautiful friend Nancy from Blog ‘Its a Lifestyle thing’ shared a series of fabulous pictures from a shoot she did on the streets of London featuring the Cecily ‘Dreamer’ necklace. Here’s how to style our favourite dreamcatcher necklace for the city chic spring time look.
Quick thought though – if you’re inspired enough to brace the cold weather in an outfit like this, then maybe swap the silk cami for a cashmere polo neck jumper and a cosy slouchy beanie hat…. just to avoid catching pneumonia!
Check out Nancy’s other ‘Cecily’ outfit posts here!

Ella Eyre is the latest celebrity to join the Cecily London fan club. Ella wore the beautiful ‘Nellie’ elephant pendant on a 40cm Ball chain to the Sunday Times Style Christmas party! With every online ‘Nellie’ order we receive, we give a percentage of the proceeds to The Big Life Foundation, a wonderful charity that works towards the preservation of these beautiful creatures in the African wildlands. We would like to give big thanks to Ella for helping us raise the profile of this incredible charity!
So it’s finally here! The month of all months…. the most exciting month of the year! I feel like shouting out ‘IT’S CHRISTMASSSSSS’ like Noddy Holder does in the Slade ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’ song. Seriously though… what a tune!
Moving away from my usual outfits posts of layer upon layer of cosy coats and snuggly scarves, i’ve gone for a winter wonderland-esque outfit that will see you right over the christmas party and new year social season. Now us gals at Cecily HQ are far from ‘girly girly’… you’d never see us in a pom pom dress or covered in a lashing of glitter. We like to be comfortable, a little bit understated but elegant.
The Four Rules:
1 – Keep the outfit simple (remember less is definitely more!)
2 – Always invest in jackets (A fantastic jacket will always save the day!)
3 – AWESOME Shoes (I don’t think I need to say anymore than that!)
4 – Always accessories up in a lashing of (tasteful) jewellery!! (Particularly Cecily jewellery!)
So here it is, our social outfit for December 2014. We have chosen this outfit from a selection of clothes and accessories available from the gorgeous designer boutique Thackerays, who happen to be one of our latest stockists.
We’ve gone for the comfortable yet flattering leather leggings, killer boots and an option of a smart jacket, a comfortable t-shirt or a sparkle waistcoat depending on the tone of the event. Wear a black silk camisole underneath all of these tops and you have yourself three go-to comfortable yet chic outfits for the Christmas period!
Hat: Woolrich Hat available @ Thackerays Boutique
British presenter and actress Zoe Hardman was pictured this week wearing the ‘Skye‘ Hummingbird necklace from the Cecily ‘Dream a Little Dream’ collection. Zoe took a ‘selfie’ of herself wearing her Cecily necklace on her Instagram page. Find Zoe on Instagram at @zoehardman.

There’s something about November that I love! October is usually the rainy month… and then November hits and it’s crisp and frosty and (hopefully) sunny! It has probably got something to do with the fact that it means Christmas is nearing… but it’s also about the fact i can wear my favourite chunky knits, chunky enough that they could be mistaken for a duvet, scarves large enough they look like picnic rugs and my favourite beanie hats that mean I don’t have to do my hair in the mornings… Winner!
Below is a collection of my favourite pieces for November! I love mixing textures in my outfits, so i’ve chosen an outfit that features wool, denim, cotton, sheepskin and semi-precious stones! Super tactile!
Jumper: Scotch & Soda ,
Nail Varnish: OPI
Happy Monday friends!
This week our focus is on our very special partnership with BIG LIFE – a charity that is very close to our hearts. If you didn’t know already, Tess and I have decided to donate 10% of all online sales of the Cecily ‘Nellie’ elephant necklace to BIG LIFE to help aid their mission to prevent elephant killing in Africa.
Tess and I have been very fortunate to have seen the beautiful creatures inhabiting the African wild lands, in their natural habitat. It so happens that these experiences have been incredibly influential in inspiring lots of our designs. The most destructive thought is that in 50 years time, will the killing of elephants have got so out of hand that we can only experience these animals caged up in a zoo?
The BIG LIFE charity is utterly inspirational, and there’s so much I could continue to say but I really think that for the best understanding as to what they achieve, you should visit the BIG LIFE website. Founded in 2010 by photographer Nick Brandt and conservationist Richard Bonham, BIG LIFE‘s passion is to fund and deliver anti-poaching operations across the wilderness. “Big Life has now expanded to employ 315 rangers, with 31 outposts and 15 vehicles protecting 2 million acres of wilderness in the Amboseli-Tsavo ecosystem of E. Africa.”
(‘Nellie’ Elephant Necklace)
We are looking for as many people as possible to continue the BIG LIFE conversation with us, and to help us raise as much money as possible for this beautiful and inspiring charity. Next year we hope to go out and visit BIG LIFE in their homelands and see for ourselves where the money we have raised has gone to.
We’re so excited to have built such a special relationship with such a special group of people, and look forward to developing that relationship with not only the people driving the passions of the charity, but with the elephants that they’re protecting!

Its always a dilemma… how do you stay warm and dry as the weather gets wetter, windier and colder, without loosing your style? Well we’re on hand to help you find the coolest and cosiest pieces for October! This month we’re welcoming cool prints, leather jeggings, cosy capes and neutral nails, without forgetting accessorising with our favourite Cecily Jewels!
When your outfit sticks to a grey palette, bring a bit of warmth to your look by accessorising with some gold jewellery. Now don’t think that we’re advising you to go G-Unit with two tonnes of gold chain mail…. no no NO! Keep it simple, elegant and pretty. Try a favourite charm on a long chain over a warm knit jumper, and add a chunky bracelet or two!
Find each piece below:
At the end of last month, Tess and I spent 10 beautifully sunny days in the south of France. We haven’t been on holiday together since we launched Cecily almost two years ago and below is a short but sweet round up of our trip!
We stayed at Tess’ boyfriends beautifully quaint house near Lahitere, about 40 minutes outside of Toulouse…. and what a place it was. I’m still astounded by the incredible views of the Pyrenees mountains, and the unspoilt rural beauty.
The days started with Brie, bbq’s and plenty of waterskiing…. with Stanley (the dog) and I making an appearance on the Ringo! The days ended watching the most incredible sunsets, jumping in the hot tub sipping delicious champagne and eating local cheese.
I can’t recommend this beautiful area of France enough!
My last blog post featured the stunning pro surfer Laure Crane (Read Here) and I promised to introduce you to the second of our pro surfing gal pals.
Monyca Eleogram is her name, and yes… Pro surfing is her game! With home being the beautiful Hawaii!
Monyca is hugely down to earth, she celebrates not in her sporting achievements, but finds success in spending time with the people she loves, and to have a job that allows her to surf everyday. What a fantastic philosophy to life – a total free-spirit.
As a true #cecilygirl , Monyca is pictured on her Instagram page wearing the Cecily ‘Bolt Turquoise‘, a hand carved natural turquoise arrow head pendant made by artisans. Her Instagram profile is always full of exciting happy images, featuring the people that she loves. Make sure you head over to her profile and give her a follow! (@monycaeleogram) Or follow her on Facebook HERE.
We look forward to growing our relationship with Monyca. She’s a breath of fresh air, she focuses her attention on the important things in life such as family and friends, and that is a philosophy worth paying attention to. (Pics c/o Monyca Instagram)
The #cecilygirl tribe is growing by the minute. The latest additions to the beautiful gang of girls living the Cecily dream happen to be two of our favourite ladies who reside amongst the waves.
First up: Pro Surfer Laura Crane.
British born, this uber babe resides from the seaside town of Croyde where Tess and I spent much of our youth! Now we can’t claim to be anywhere near the level Laura is at… but Tess and I certainly felt very much at home in the sea, whether it was surfing, swimming, banana boating or general clowning around. So Laura…. we salute you as fellow water babies!
Laura’s favourite Cecily piece is the ‘Dreamer Rose Gold’ (pictured below) … i know…. that tan… and as a compulsive jacket lover…. that jacket!! Anyway enough gushing, make sure you keep track of Laura’s surfing journey HERE.
Keep your eyes peeled for the introduction to our next #cecilygirl …. !!
We have a new celebrity fan!!
Jessica Szohr, best known as ‘Vanessa’ from US TV hit Gossip Girl has been spotted wearing the Cecily ‘Silvania’ necklace on her Instagram page!
‘Silvania’ is a beautiful handmade charm necklace made from sterling silver gold plate, consisting of a delicate hummingbird and feather charm. Get yours today whilst stock lasts!!
Sara Libby takes the most beautiful pictures. The location, the styling and the spirit of the pictures combine to create a feeling of peace, serenity and purity. A true bohemian beauty and wild child, Sara Libby is a big fan of our jewels, and features them regularly on her blog and Instagram profile.
A true flower power babe… we always look forward to a new post from Sara Libby. Just take a peak at her pics… i’m sure you’ll agree that she has a natural beautiful soul.
Now amongst my destination wish list… the gorgeous star studded American state of Los Angeles is up there! On rainy drizzly days in London, when getting out of bed is almost impossible, suddenly there pops up the glorious pictures from the beautiful LA blogger ‘Kiersten’ from The Blonde Abroad on the Cecily Instagram page. From that moment on I’m up out of bed (seriously thats all it takes… If only my house mistress knew this at boarding school!!). It only takes something as simple as a cloudless sky to perk up our spirits… even if it is from the sky over the other side of the rather large pond that is the Atlantic ocean.
I had to share some of the beautiful pictures from The Blonde Abroad. She has gorgeous boho styling, is a fan of Cecily jewels (hooorahhh) and travels the world visiting the most beautiful countries and documenting as she goes. If there’s anyone who will brighten your spirits on a damp English day… it will be her!
P.S. Next week we’ll be featuring another of our beautiful LA #cecilygirls to chat about! Hint … she’s also blonde and also a babe!

**GIRL CRUSH ALERT**
One of our favourite bloggers Emily Cocklin was introduced to Cecily jewellery by a mutual friend. She fell in love with the Toro necklace… and we don’t blame her! There is some serious love going round for this beautiful hand caved bison pendant.
Emily styled her necklace so well… we HAD to share it with you! Check out her blog post featuring ‘Toro’ HERE!!
For more of Emily’s outfit posts and general awesomeness… check out her Instagram too! She has a really individual style and puts her outfits together so well! Also… anyone noticing how much she looks like surfer babe ‘Ivy’ from hit US TV show 90210??!!
Big thanks to Emily for providing us with outfit inspiration for the next year! We’re learning so much about how to wear the monochrome look for spring summer 2014.
Right, so we’ve all been to V-Fest, Glastonbury and SW7, and yes despite seeing some pretty ridious (yes thats a combination of horrendous and ridiculous- remember it!) things… you always have a cracking time!
However we’ve got to that age now, where we’re expecting a little bit more from our festivals. Think less people, cool cocktails, gourmet food and why not throw in a hot tub or two… (and some luxury toilets!!)! The mainstream festivals, although extremely awesome, leave you coming away filthy, smelly, covered in mud….and god knows what else. We’re looking for a little bit of luxury these days… we’ve been there, worn the t-shirt, stayed in the Premier Inn and now looking for the Ritz of festival experiences.
If you, like us, are looking for something a little bit different, here’s the list of ‘alternative’ festivals that will see you through the summer.1. The Big Festival 29-31st August. (Oxfordshire)
This is what they say:
“Jamie Oliver and Alex James present The Big Feastival, a unique weekend celebration of music, food and fun for all the family, set on Alex’s idyllic Cotswolds farm.
Enjoy music from top acts, tuck into top chef demos in the Big Kitchen and have your fill from The Menu, featuring the cream of the UK’s street food crop. Browse local producer stands, join a cookery class or get your foodie fix joining top chefs for intimate Q&A sessions. Join an arts & crafts workshop, enjoy the Big Top games or take a spin round the vintage funfair.
Come for the day, camp for the weekend or go glamping for a special treat!”2. Isle of Wight Festival 12-15th June
Offering an awesome lineup of top artists, up and coming performers the Isle of Wight Festival returns this summer for its 13th year.. With multiple stages, there will be something for everyone. As well as the legend music, the football world cup will be screened live in the BT Sport Field of Dreams on seriously large screens. Pretty cool hey!3. Edinburgh Fringe 1-25th August
What they say:
“The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the largest arts festival in the world and takes place every August for three weeks in Scotland’s capital city. Every year thousands of performers take to a multitude of stages all over Edinburgh to present shows for every taste. From big names in the world of entertainment to unknown artists looking to build their careers, the festival caters for everyone and includes theatre, comedy, dance, physical theatre, cabaret, children’s shows, musicals, operas, music, spoken word, exhibitions and events.”4. Secret Garden Party 24-27th July
What they Say:
“Dance with us beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free; because, in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.”
If your looking for an alternative to the established mainstream festivals, the Secret Garden party is set in the beautiful grounds of a Georgian farm house, complete with stunning landscaped gardens, a lake and a river – this is the best of what Britain has to offer.5. Farr Fest 18-20th July
Located just outside of London, Farr is a boutique festival held in a deserted forest. They say “An organically evolving party, it has grown into one of the leading boutique festivals in the country whilst still retaining all the charm, magic and intimacy it started out with.” Farr fest is amazing for enjoying the British summer, frolicking around in the fields, sleeping underneath the stars and playing in the forests.

Harmony Necklace: Serenity Necklace:
A very good friend of mine started up a blog a year ago…. I won’t tell you much about her story, because you can find it out HERE…. but it’s a good one so go and have a read.
Her name is Nancy, and she happens to be the most wonderful photographer. Self taught and powerful with her passion, Nancy was the artist behind our recent ‘Dream a Little Dream’ photo shoot.
A big time Cecily fan, Nancy, Tess and I had a lot of fun styling the shoot and we couldn’t wait to share some of the final shots with you all. If you follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram you will have probably already seen some sneak peaks…. But here is a collection of Nancy’s photography for Cecily, plus a shot of Nancy featuring the ‘Dreamer’ silver with Mother of Pearl heart as seen in one of her recent outfit of the day posts. Check out the full post HERE.

Adding to our otherwise constant content roll on Twitter and Facebook… we’re really enjoying the power of the picture at the moment – seeing and not speaking is a wonderful thing. So this month we’ve made a pact and embracing the opportunity Instagram gives to document what we see.
If you haven’t got Instagram already… I couldn’t recommend it enough. It’s on its way to becoming the most popular photo-sharing app available, and with the beautiful filters available, you can turn what was an averagely nice photo into something pretty spectacular.
To follow us head over to @cecilylondon and have a browse through our 341 pictures…. and counting!! Instagram opens up a wonderful opportunity to not only share our journey with you all, but to also look back and remember whats been.
It’s that time of year again when the beautiful stars of Hollywood are on show for the biggest night of the year… The 86th Academy Awards Oscar’s. With news of the ‘best and worst dressed’ hitting all social media sites and news headlines, and the people inside the dresses being judged here there and everywhere…. we say lets celebrate the celebs that nailed the red carpet… and not mention those who failed to impress, after all, we’ve all had moments where we haven’t been that proud of an outfit, or been subjected to an unflattering angle.
We’ve chosen our favourite looks from The Oscars 2014… and boy oh boy, they’re goodies!
(WARNING: Girl crush zone)
1. Lupita Nyong’o in Prada
Oh wow… this dress is a dream. The colour is so delicate and the grecian lines of the dress are beautifully feminine and chic. I love absolutely everything about this stunning Prada creation. (I do however think she could have been a bit more imaginative with her hair… the hairband could make this outfit look a bit Alice in Wonderland!!)
2. Kate Hudson in Versace
I actually can’t fault anything about what Kate has done here…. The dress is an exquisite mix of old hollywood glamour with elements of ethereal goddess. Yet she rocks it up with dramatic dark eye make up and loose wavy hair. In the words of Rachel Zoe… ‘I Die’. Well played Kate… well played.
3. Olga Kurylenko in Red Carpet Green Dress.
I sometimes don’t think wearing red (or in the case a dusky claret) is a good idea on the red carpet… however, there are so many amazing elements to this dress and I salute Olga for being brave enough to wear it. Firstly the dress is the winning design from this year’s Red Carpet Green Dress competition by Berlin student Alice Elia. Secondly it’s sustainable, an issue thats very close to our hearts. Is this ‘eco’ dress an Oscars first? Thirdly… the design and cut is beautiful. The way the fabric falls is a gorgeous combination of fine architecture and movement. The ruffle across the shoulder, the wide empire line panel and the glimpse of cleavage make for a powerful yet feminine winning Oscars dress.
4. Cate Blanchet in Armani Prive.
There are only a few that could pull of Cate’s embellished tulle Armani gown, but oh boy… doesn’t she just do it justice. Her hair colour, beautiful pale skin and a natural glow combine to make this nude number a gorgeous addition to the red carpet. It’s exquisite yet subtle embroidery detailing, plus Cate’s class and sophistication combine to presents one stunning Oscar winner! Congratulations Cate.
Who were your best dressed from The Oscars 2014?
Lots of Love,
Last weekend Tess and I went back to our family’s farm and spent the afternoon with some friends and the hounds off road-ing, getting stuck in the mud (and having to be towed out…. not my finest hour!!) and trying to train the puppies to walk on the lead…!
If you follow us on Instagram or Twitter, you will have seen numerous pictures of the latest additions to the Collins household! If you don’t… our brother has 3 dogs- two of which are puppies. Chewbacca a.k.a ‘Chewy’ is an 8 month old St. Bernard… and is the size of a house, or maybe more like a medium sized bungalow with an extension. He’s a cuddly giant with the kindest nature….. and real bird magnet- probably the reason Ross insists on having him with him 24/7!
The 2nd puppy- Trigger (yes named after Trigger from Only Fools and Horses) is a beautiful 9 week old Boarder Collie. We had such fun with them, and we all stumbled home a nice shade of muddy brown with twigs in our hair and slobber everywhere…. thanks to Chewy!!
Anyway here are some pics of our lovely fun day in the winter sun!
Tess And Trigger!
‘You talking to me…?!’
It is no secret that Tess and I both have long hair, and it’s also no secret that Tess’ hair always looks nicely neat and straight, whereas mine is disorganised and wild.
I’m embracing my unruly locks and sharing with you my favourite hair looks for 2014.
P.S. I always have hair envy so follow my ‘Hair Love’ mode board on Pinterest for my continual interest in other people’s hair! http://www.pinterest.com/cecilyoffical/hair-love/
Fast becoming a major Cecily fan… The Saturdays Una Healy was seen at the Rays of Sunshine Charity Concert at The Royal Albert Hall wearing our lovely Rosanna Clover necklace.

We had the absolute honour of meeting Moda De La Mode (link) Editor Grace Molan, an amazing and inspired young fashion journalist who fell in love with the Cecily designs. Grace came to Cecily HQ to meet us, see the jewellery and ask us a few questions about how ‘Cecily’ was born.
