Our Mission to protect ‘Sadie’!
Cecily co-founders Tess and Libby started working with the elephant charity Big Life Foundation a couple of years ago. Cecily gives 10% of each sale of a ‘Nellie‘ the elephant necklace to the charity aiding them in their mission.
This special friendship continues to grow and this summer we’re very excited to launch the second generation elephant necklace in partnership with Big Life Foundation, and their friends at the Amboseli Trust for Elephants.
The new Cecily London elephant necklace is named ‘Sadie‘. Dr Vicki Fishlock, the resident scientist at ATE said “Sadie’ is the matriarch of the SB family, and she’s 52 years old now. She is a real favourite with the ATE team, and her symmetrical tusks are what made me think of her for naming your pendant in support of Big Life and their amazing work. We are so proud and grateful to have them working alongside us in Amboseli.”
Amboseli Trust for Elephants – Their mission!
“ATE contributes to elephant conservation by inspiring people with our longevity, our passion and our history. Leaders in elephant biology and behaviour for decades, we strive to ensure that our research continues to contribute to the cutting edge of elephant conservation.
We have studied the elephants in Amboseli since 1972, making us the longest running continuous elephant research project in the world. Much of what we know and understand about elephants today comes from research done by ATE and our collaborators.”
We continue to be amazed at the incredible work both these charities do and we can’t wait until next year when we plan on visiting our new friends including ‘Sadie’ the elephant!
